Brain Surgery Left Me With Sexual Dysfunction, Says Julius Agwu
Nigerian comedian and actor Julius Agwu has revealed that he experienced sexual dysfunction after undergoing brain surgery in the United States in 2015.
Agwu made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show, uploaded on Saturday, while reflecting on the effects of his health battle and surgery on his body, career and personal life.
During the programme, the host asked whether the brain condition or subsequent surgery had affected other parts of his body, including his sexual function.
Responding, Agwu said the surgery affected his ability to function sexually.
“After I do am, prick no dey work again now. He no dey work,” he said.
Other guests on the programme, including Mr Patrick, subsequently discussed the connection between nerves involved in the procedure and the brain, appearing to suggest that nerve related complications could have contributed to the condition described by Agwu.
Agwu underwent brain surgery in 2015 after doctors reportedly discovered three tumours in his brain, one of which was said to be about the size of a golf ball.

The comedian has previously spoken about his health challenges and the significant impact they had on his personal life and career.
His latest revelation came towards the end of the programme as he discussed some of the lesser-known consequences of the surgery.
Agwu also reflected on his contribution to Nigeria’s comedy industry, particularly his role in popularising music comedy.
“Music comedy na me form am o, that is to tell you how my brain dey work,” he said.
The comedian became emotional while speaking about his career and what he described as feelings of betrayal and abandonment by some friends during his health struggles.
“God wey I dey serve, anybody wey get hand for wetin happen to me. I go dey look. My friends deserted me. They stopped talking to me, many of them. It is well,” he said.
Agwu remains one of Nigeria’s prominent comedians and actors, known for blending music with comedy and for his appearances in Nollywood productions.
